
36 Far Eastern Wainwrights

1 High Street 828m

High Street is the highest of the far eastern fells and the 25th highest overall out of the 214 wainwrights. High Street is located just north of the Kentmere horseshoe and can in fact be done on this route. High Street is named after the roman road that ran over the summit.
2 High Raise 802m

High Raise is the 2nd highest point of the far eastern fells and the 32nd highest wainwright out of the 214. High Raise is located above the north western shore of Haweswater reservoir. The highest peak of the central fells is also called high raise however it is smaller than this peak only standing at 762m.


3 Rampsgill Head 792m

Rampsgill Head is the 3rd highest wainwright of the far eastern fells and the 39th highest overall in comparison to all wainwrights. Rampsgill head towers over the north western side of Haweswater Resvoir nestled in-between High Street and High Raise the two highest fells of this area.
4 Thornthwaite Crag 784m

Thornthwaite Crag is the 4th highest peak of the eastern fells and the 44th highest fell in all the wainwrights. Thornthwaite Crag is located in the middle of the far eastern fells, there are many routes which branch oof from this summit. It is part of the Kentmere horsehsoe and there is a large iconic cairn on its summit.


5 Kidsty Pike 780m

Kidsty Pike is the 5th highest wainwright of the far eastern fells and the 46th highest peak of all the wainwrights. Kidsty Pike is located above the western shore of Haweswater, the iconic peak is a subsidiary of Rampsgill Head, however due to the prominent rock faced peak it has the status of a separate wainwright.
6 Harter Fell 779m

Harter Fell is the 6th highest fell of the far eastern wainwrights and the 47th highest in all the wainwrights. Harter Fell just west of Haweswater Resvoir, Harter Fell is part of the Kentmere horseshoe, the summit is cinnect to three different ridges heading off to other wainwrights.


7 Caudale Moor 763m

Caudale Moor or Stony Cove Pike is the 7th highest of the far eastern fell and the 56th highest in all the wainwrights. Caudale Moor is located on the eastern side of Kirkstone Pass opposite to Red Screes. Caudale Moor has a path that leads down to Hartsop via Hartsop Dodd.
8 Mardale Ill Bell 760m

Mardale Ill Bell is the 8th highest of the far eastern fells and the 59th highest of the wainwrights. Mardale Ill Bell is located to the south west of Haweswater Resevoir. Mardale Ill Bell stands as a water shed between Kentmere and Mardale.


9 Ill Bell 757m

Ill Bell is the 9th highest of the far eastern fells and the 60th highest wainwright of all the 214. Ill Bell is located in the middle of the of the three iconic pointed peaks on the kentmere horseshoe. The ridge lies inbetween the Kentmere and Troutbeck valleys.
10 The Knott 739m

The Knott is the 10th highest of the far eastern fells and the 66th highest of all the wainwrights. The Knott is located just above Hayeswater to the east. It lies just underneath Rampsgill Head and leads onto Rest Dodd.


11 Kentmere Pike 730m

Kentmere Pike is the 11th highest peak in the far eastern fells and 72nd highest in all the wainwrights. Kentmere Pike is the second wainwright on the eastern side of the Kentmere horseshoe. It lies in between Kentmere and Longsleddale.
12 Froswick 720m

Froswick is the 12th highest fell in the far eastern fells and the 77th highest in all the wainwrights, Froswick is located on the Kentmere horsehsoe it is one of the three iconic peaks along this ridge. Froswick leads directly to Thornthwaite Crag, in between the valleys of Kentmere and Troutbeck.


13 Branstree 713m

Branstree is the 13th highest of the far eastern fells and the 81st highest of all the 214 wainwrights. Branstree is located above the southern shore of Haweswater and to the east of the Kentmere horsehsoe. Branstree is the only wainwright that directly connects to Selside Pike.
14 Yoke 706m

Yoke is the 14th highest of the far eastern fells and the 85th highest of all the wainwrights. Yoke is situated on the western side of the Kentmere horseshoe. Yoke forms one of the three iconic peaks on the ridge . Yoke is the smallest of the three the others being Froswick and Ill Bell.


15 Gray Crag 699m

Gray Crag is the 15th highest fell in the far eastern wainwrights and the 90th highest summit in all the wainwrights. Gray Crag is located above Hayeswater to the east above Hartsop. Gray Crag is only connected directly to one of wainwright which is Thornthwaite Crag.
16 Rest Dodd 696m

Rest Dodd is the 16th highest fell in the far eastern wainwrights and the 93rd highest of all the wainwrights. Rest Dodd is located to the north of Hayeswater just underneath the Knott. Rest Lies between Ullswater and Hawswater, Summit of Rest Dodd connects to a few other wainwright and is the only wainwright which connects directly to The Nab.


17 Wether Hill 674m

Wether Hill is the 17th highest of the far eastern fells and the 100th highest of the 214 wainwrights. Wether Hill is located inbetween Martindale and Haweswater, it lies along a wide ridge inbetween the wainwrights Loadpot hill to the north and High Raise to the south.
18 Loadpot Hill 672m

Loadpot Hill is the 18th highest peak of the fare eastern fells and the 103rd highest of all the wainwrights. Loadpot Hill is located on a wide ridge which lies inbetween Ullswater and Haweswater. Loadpot Hill is connected to Arthurs Pike and Bonscale Pike to the north and Wether Hill to the south.


19 Tarn Crag 664m

Tarn Crag is the 19th highest fell in the far eastern wainwrights and the 104th highest of all the wainwrights. Tarn Crag is located to the east of Longsleddale and north of Sdagill in an islodated area. It is within a boggy area of the Lake Distrcit with only Grey Cray immediatly nearby.
20 Place Fell 657m

Place Fell is the 20th highest mountain in the far eastern fells and the 108th highest of all the wainwrights. It is located right at the north of the far eastern fells just to the south of Ullswater. The summit has incredible views of Glenridding and Patterdale.


21 Selside Pike 655m

Selside Pike is the 21st highest of the far eastern fells and the 110th highest of all the 214 wainwrights. Selside Pike is located in between Mardale and Swindale valley, it is very isolated and only connects directly onto one other wainwright, Branstree.
22 Grey Crag 638m

Grey Crag is the 22nd highest wainwright of the far eastern fells and the 118th highest of the 214 wainwrights. Grey Crag is located in a rural boggy area of the Lake District national park to the east of Longsleddale. Its nearest wainwright is Tarn Crag.


23 Hartsop Dodd 618m

Hartsop Dodd is the 23rd highest fell in the far eastern wainwrights and the 125th highest in all the wainwrights. Hartsop Dodd is located immediately above Hartsop to the south, Hartsop Dodd connects onto the higher wainwright Caudale Moor, this wide ridge is opposite Red Screes divided by Kirkstone pass.
24 Shipman Knotts 587m

Shipman Knotts is the 24th highest wainwright of the far eastern fells and the 133rd highest of all the wainwrights. Shipman Knotts is located at the base of the Kentmere horsehsoe, just above Kentmere. Shipman Knotts is often the first wainwright completed on the horseshoe.


25 The Nab 576m

The Nab is the 25th highest of the far eastern fells and the 138th of all the wainwrights. Th nab is located in a secluded area of the Lake District in between Ullswater and Haweswater. The Nab is difficult to reach due to its steep northern incline and its long walk distance access from the south.
26 Angletarn Pikes 567m

Angletarn Pikes is the 26th highest of all the far eastern fells and the 143rd highest of the wainwrights. Anglearn pikes is a peak located to the east inbetween Patterdale and hartsop. Angletarn pikes can be done along with Place fell to the north or Brock Crags to the south.


27 Brock Crags 561m

Brock Crags is the 27th highest fell in the far eastern fells and the 144th highest of all 214 wainwrights. Brock Crags is located just above Harsop and direct to the south of Angletarn pikes. Brock Crags is often summited along with Angletarn Pikes.
28 Arthurs Pike 533m

Arthur's Pike is the 28th highest of the far eastern fells and the 157th highest of all the wainwrights. Arthurs Pike is the most north peak of the far eastern fells ans is located just behind Bonscale Pike. Arthurs Pike and Bonscale Pike are both subsidiary summits of Loadpot Hill the paretn peak to the south.


29 Bonscale Pike 524m

Bonscale Pike is the 29th highest fell in the far eastern fells and the the 161st highest fell of all 214 wainwrights. Bonscale Pike is located just south west of Arthurs Pike, these two fells are subsidiary peaks of Loadpot Hill.
30 Sallows 516m

Sallows is the 30th highest peak of the far eastern fells and the 166th highest of all the wainwrights. Sallows is located south of the kentmere horsehsoe, immediatly behind Yoke. Sallows between the kentmere and troutbeck valley.


31 Beda Fell 509m

Beda Fell is the 31st highest of the 36 far eastern fells and the 170th highest of all 214 wainwrights. Beda fell is located south of Ullswater in-between the valleys of Boredale and Bannerdale within Martindale. Beda Fell is just south of Hallin Fell.
32 Wansfell 486m

Wansfell also known as Baystones is the 32nd highest of the far eastern fells and the overall 178th highest of the wainwrights. Wansfell is situated just above Ambleside, From the summit of Wansfell you can see Windermere and Rydal water.


33 Sour Howes 483m

Sour Howes is the 33rd highest of the far eastern wainwrights and the 180th highest of all the wainwrights. Sour Howes is located directly behind Sallows to the south. Both peaks are located just outside the Kentmere horseshoe inbetween the Kentmere and Troutbeck valleys.
34 Steel Knotts 442m

Steel Knotts is the 34th highest of the 36 far eastern fells and the 195th highest of all the wainwrights. Steel Knotts is located just south of the top end of Ullswater. Steel Knotts, Beda Fell and Hallin Fell form a triangle around Martindale, Each of these peaks are isolated and not connected.


35 Hallin Fell 388m

Hallin Fell is the second smallest of the far eastern fells and the 203rd highest of all the 214 wainwrights. Hallin fell is a small isolated peak right on the edge of Ullswater. On the top of Hallin Fell is a big Obelisk to mark the summit. Beda Fell and Steel Knotts are located just to the south of Hallin Fell.
36 Troutbeck Tongue 364m

Troutbeck Tongue is the smallest of all the far eastern fells and the 207th highest of the 214 wainwrights. Troutbeck Tongue is an isolated fell just north of Troutbeck, Although a small fell there is a fair walk out to get to the based of this independent wainwright.
